Today I decided to take a big risk in order to take photographs of remaining metre gauge unused tracks which lies along the side of birfurcation point immediately after ponmalai station ( next to tiruchirapalli station) in tamilnadu...But Unfortunately I had to abort before reaching the bifurcation point where the chennai bound and Tanjore bound lines deviate since I got ankle pain when I stepped out of the forward track ( proceeding to Chennai) into the ballast on the track side as I placed my ankle side ward while stepping out of the track....So unfortunate...I will try next time ..I tried exclusively to delight the metre gauge railway fans in this subcontinent starting from you sir

Woh my God very valuable video..reminding me my school time when these locomotives were in operation...after passing kurla a few second later, in right side the hill of BARC is visible near RK studio where i use to live those days...thankyou friend there was no mobile that time..how you manage to do all this.

This route was very scenic during the rainy season. It was also a bit dangerous because landslides were very common during the rains.

That day taspaswini was late I guess . 6 am is puri timing

I think at that time there were no cell phone camera to shoot and may have done through SLR camera

Well these emu trains went extinct obviously because of overpopulation which is a overload for them ... But it's still a sad thing that not much documentaries are avaliable of these in any sight or media ...they silently went extinct... I was born in 2000s in sealdah division..I saw big broad gauge giants from childhood...became normal for me .. I knew that there was metre gauge train ..but never heard of this baby emus ...this video literally made me full of joy ❤🥰 thanks for this documentary

I was 5 when this video was shot, I do remember in my childhood travelling via Jayanthi Janatha to my hometown. Even though I do not remember every single detail, watching this video takes you to a different era. The era of happiness.

I have spent my childhood days near Allahabad Rly station(1994-2000)....I use to live in Rly colony and my Father was posted here..whenever we have to catch the train we use to come through Yard...of Allahabad...thanks for reviving the memory

Sir I am 46 years old now and I remember my first train journey from Tatanagar to Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh. I was around 7-8 years. Whenever I see your videos I remember those train journeys, steam engines, diesel engines narrow gauge and broad gauge, non AC First class, red colour train boogies. Forest on both the sides of the tracks. Those golden days where people had ample time to spend with each other. I felt as if I knew all the passengers in the compartment while travelling. Great era great people wonderful journeys. Thank you Sir for bringing back those great memories.😢😢
